The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is the latest in a series of viral outbreaks that researchers predict will only increase in the years ahead.

Each outbreak presents different challenges to the performance of existing contractual relationships, and the latest virus creates the opportunity to consider – or reconsider – strategies for mitigating the risks associated with these outbreaks in pending contract negotiations.
